Robb Hudson Becomes CEO and President of MELD PrintWorks Corporation

MELD Manufacturing Corporation announces Robb Hudson has been appointed CEO and President of the new spin out company MELD PrintWorks Corporation.

In this position Hudson will be responsible for ensuring PrintWorks customers receive outstanding printed parts produced with the MELD technology, on time and with a level of quality that exceeds their expectations. In this role he will lead the PrintWorks team to meet the needs of our customers, including those who struggle to obtain forgings, castings, and other metal parts due to time constraints and supply-chain issues.

Robb says that he decided PrintWorks was the right choice for him because, “The opportunity to stand at the intersection of MELD’s transformative technology and the current supply chain shortage in castings and forgings is a once in a lifetime opportunity!  I am thrilled to have been chosen to lead this amazing team of professionals and offer the MELD process as a service to industries struggling to meet their raw material needs.”

Board Chair Nanci Hardwick stated, “I’m delighted to have an experienced leader capable of delivering on the promise of additive to PrintWorks customers. Robb brings a passion for manufacturing and an understanding of how additive and advanced manufacturing can help create success in many industries, especially aerospace.”   Most recently Hudson was President and CEO of Aerodyn Engineering in Indianapolis Indiana.  Prior to Aerodyn Engineering he served as CEO for Mitsui Seiki (USA), Inc., a super precision machine tool builder. He has spent his career in the machine tool and manufacturing industries learning conventional and non-conventional machining processes primarily focused on the aerospace and turbine industries. During that time Robb led teams at Huffman Corporation (OPTOMEC), LASAG Industrial Laser (SWATCH Group), WINBRO Group, Mitsui Seiki and Aerodyne Engineering.  These efforts spawned exciting new technologies in 5-axis micro-precision laser cutting, laser ablation systems for turbine airfoil shaped cooling holes, Blue Arc™ Machining Systems and Hybrid 3D Printing & Machining Systems.

Hudson has held board level positions with several companies and equally has volunteered his time for Economic Development and work force development initiatives on behalf of county, regional and state level organizations.  In addition, Robb and his family have dedicated a lot of time and energy in bringing awareness and financial resources to charities supporting foster and adoption charities. He has also been an invited speaker around the world delivering technical papers and presentations on various manufacturing topics.
