MELD CEO Distinguished Guest at Eisenhower School National Defense University Industry Studies Program Capstone Event

National Defense University students visit MELD to see additive manufacturing

After visiting MELD Manufacturing Corporation earlier this year, escorted by Colonel Ned Krafchick and Lieutenant colonel Douglas Luccio, the 2020 class included their experience at the factory in their Munitions Industry Study Distinguished Visitors Briefing on May 28th.  US Air Force Brigadier General Kyle Robinson noted the day’s briefing was “one of the key culminating events in a ten-month course of study designed to prepare our students for the senior leadership positions that await them in the future.”  MELD CEO Nanci Hardwick and BAE Vice President & General Manager of Combat Vehicles Mark Signorelli represented industry on a panel of industry and DoD members briefed on key issues and policy recommendations for the munitions industrial base.

Under the guidance of the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS), the Eisenhower School Commandant and faculty prepare senior military officers, government civilians, and selected representatives from the private sector and international officers for the national security challenges of the 21st century. The goal is to leverage technological advances, integrate new strategic and operational concepts, identify and adapt to evolving global developments, and channel the vitality and innovation of the Services, the interagency, and allies to achieve a more seamless, coherent effect when confronting new national security challenges and the battlefields of the future.
